NEW ENGLAND TOYOTA DEALERS TEAM with WISCASSET
RACEWAY for
MARQUEE EVENT
by Ken Minott
RACEWAY
PRESS RELEASE 4/3/08 -
The management team at
Wiscasset Raceway announced today that they have
inked a deal with the New England Toyota Dealers to
be the title sponsor for the track's August 17th
Super Late Model showcase. Wiscasset Sales and
Promotion Director John Crawford said he and track
owner Doug White have reached a deal with Toyota's
regional marketing rep Troy McCadden that will make
them the title sponsor of the "New
England Toyota Tundra 250" for this season's
race and years to come.
"This is a great opportunity for Toyota and for
Wiscasset Raceway" said Crawford. "This is something
we're going develope over time and continue to grow
as a national event. This is one of the biggest, if
not the biggest, purse for a Prostock / Super Late
Model race on the east coast and this partnership
with Toyota will help give it the push we're looking
for". The 250 lap race which will highlight
Wiscasset's 2008 schedule is sanctioned by the Pro
All Stars Series and will pay $30,000 to win plus
lap money to the winner.
Over 30 drivers have already preregistered for the
race at Maine's Center of Speed including PASS stars
Johnny Clark, Ben Rowe, Mike Rowe, and Derek
Ramstrom; five-time Wiscasset Prostock champ Scott
Chubbuck; 2007 Coastal 200 winner DJ Shaw; 2006
Oxford 250 winner and runner-up Jeremy and Bill
Whorff; 2003 Big Dawg 400 winner Sam Sessions; and
Maine racing legend Stan Messerve. By virtue of his
win in the March 15th PASS South race at Hickory
North Carolina, Boothbay native Cory Williams has
secured the first guaranteed starting spot in the
New England Toyota Tundra 250.
Reserve seats are currently on sale by calling the
Wiscasset Raceway office at (207)882-4271 or (207)
