SMITH CONSTRUCTION LATE MODELS

 
1. BODIES:


A. Full Stock appearing body.
B. Steel, fiberglass or aluminum, no carbon fiber.
C. No wedge noses.
D. Five Star down force bodies are allowed as long as the long template fits.
E. All bodies must be mounted by Five Star specs.
F. Roof height minimum 46 inches measured 12 inches rearward from the center of windshield.
- 1. From the point that the roof height is measured, top edge of rear       window can be no lower than 3 inches.
G. Rear spoiler maximum 5 x 60 inches. Maximum height from ground to top of spoiler is 38 inches. ABC bodies will be 40 inches to top of spoiler, cannot extend beyond bumper cover
.
H. Side windows allowed but must retain minimum 28 inch opening.
I. ABC bodies must fit template. Maximum spoiler height 40 inches.

2. CHASSIS

A. May be tube construction, perimeter, or straight rail.
B. Wheel base minimum 104 inches.
C. Minimum Weight 2900 pounds with driver, 56 percent left side, after race.
- 1. Shock retail price not to exceed $150.00.  No externally gas charged or air shocks.
- 2. Stock front clip can weigh 2850, must have stock lower control arms. Any ball joint.
D. Any steering.
E. Any spindle.
F. Any hub.
G. Any sway bar.
H. Tread width 66 ½ inches.
I. Frame height 3 inches with driver, including body.
J. 8 inch wheels, steel
K. Tires must be purchased from Wiscasset Raceway, all tires must be left at the track after each event. No tire softeners.
L. Fuel cell clearance of 8 inches.

3. ENGINES

A. Must be centered plus/minus ½ inch. Number one plug must be even with or ahead of a line drawn between upper ball joints.
B. Cast iron block and heads only.
C. Maximum bore size .060 inches.
D. Flat top pistons only.
E. Stock stroke crank and rods.
F. Any cast iron head with 1.94 intake valve and 1.6 exhaust valve maximum, no angle milling allowed. Screw in studs allowed.
G. Roller rockers allowed.
H. Any oil pan.
I. M. S. D. allowed.
J. Intake manifold must be Edlebrock #2101 or #2116 GM / #2181 Ford / #2176 Chrysler. No modifications.
K. GM Bowtie cylinder head p/n 25534371 and Ford SVO cylinder head p/n M-6049-N352 and  Ford cylinder head p/n M-6049-N351vwill not be allowed. GM bowtie angle plug head: maximum valve size 2.02 and 1.60. World Product Jr. allowed.
L. Absolutely no port or combustion chamber modifications.
M. Holly 4412 with maximum 1 inch spacer. No tapered or beveled spacers allowed.
N. Clutch – 7 ¼ inch clutch allowed must have stock flex plate, no light- weight option, may run stock steel flywheel and clutch with 50 pound weight break, minimum weight for flywheel is 15 pounds. Stock clutch, pressure plate. Stock bell housing or scatter shield.
O. Cams - Lifter bores may be bushed or bored.  Any flat tappet.
P. Crankshaft minimum height of 10 inches.

4. TRANSMISSIONS

A. Any O/E (original equipment) transmission, 3 or 4 speed.

5. REAR ENDS

A. Floater type. Quick change is OK.
B. Maximum gear ration 5.43.
C. No cambered rear ends.

6. ENGINE OPTIONS:

GM Crate motor p/n 88958603 with no changes will get 100 pound break.

GM Crate motor p/n 88958604 with no changes will get 50 pound break, must run #4412 Carburetor.

Note: At any time crate motors can be taken to be put on dyno at track discretion. Any crate motor found to be illegal will lose ½ of their points to date.

Note: All illegal parts will become the property of Wiscasset Raceway. If you do not surrender illegal parts, you will not race until you do.

If it doesn’t say you can do it, you can’t.

Infractions will be dealt with in any means as determined by Wiscasset Raceway management.

ANY USE OF ANY KIND OF TIRE TREATMENT OR TRACTION CONTROL WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.

DISQUALIFICATION (DQ): IF YOU ARE DQ’D FOR ANY REASON, YOU RECEIVE NO POINTS FOR THE HEAT AND RACE, AND YOU RECEIVE NO MONEY FOR HEAT OR RACE – PERIOD!
