ENGINE: One year option for 2008. If your running a
2007 engine, there will be no compression rule. Pistons – 2
valve relief. Cam – 450 lift at valve.
1. BODIES – CHASSIS
A. 1969 or newer American made. Body and frame may
interchange.
B. Must have factory steel roof. Minimum roof size 41 inches
long by 47 inches wide.
C. Body panels may be steel or aluminum. NO FIBERGLASS
panels.
D. Aftermarket nose and tail covers allowed. If running
aftermarket panels, must have Five Star bumper cover. No
carbon fiber allowed.
E. Must have rear bumper cover completely closed in. No
carbon fiber allowed.
F. No wedge or dirt type noses or dirt style rear bodies.
G. MINIMUM 4 POINT ROLL CAGE REQUIRED.
H. Lead ballast must be securely mounted.
I. Minimum ground clearance 3 inches with driver. No lift.
2. INTERIOR
A. Stock steel floor pan.
B. Stock steel firewall front and rear.
C. Front of rear inner wheel well must remain in stock
location.
D. Any car utilizing a fabricated firewall floorboard are
subject to a 25 pound penalty.
E. Full frame cars and unibody cars not tied together and
retain full stock floor pan and firewall may receive a 50
pound break.
F. Any chassis deemed to have excessive tubular frame
structure will be subject to a 50 pound penalty.
G. Rear frame must be over the rear end. Excessive
modification may result in added weight to be determined by
the Tech Department.
3. SPOILER
A. 5 X 60 inches. No side boxing. Maximum height from ground
to highest point of Spoiler is 40 inches. Cannot extend past
top of rear bumper cover. No bracing allowed.
4. WHEELBASE
A. Minimum 100.5 inches.
5. TREAD WIDTH
A. 66 ½ inches maximum.
6. WEIGHT
A. 2900 pounds with driver strapped in, helmet on. Maximum
left side 56 per cent, before, during and after race.
B. ADD 25 pounds for fabricated firewall or floor pan.
C. ADD 50 pounds for excessive chassis tubing.
D. ADD 100 pounds for QR1 shocks or any other adjustable
shocks.
E. ADD 25 pounds for external mounted shocks.
F. Add 50 pounds for composite leaf springs.
Note: All weights will be determined by the Tech Department.
7. EXHAUST
A. Street legal type header. Under chassis type only.
B. Exhaust size not to exceed 3 ½ inches.
C. Exhaust must extend past driver and exit under the car.
D. Mufflers required.
8. FUEL CELL
A. Fuel cell is mandatory and must be centered in trunk.
Minimum of 8 inches ground clearance.
9. BATTERY
A. Battery must be securely fastened and covered.
10. WHEELS
A. 8 inch maximum. 1 inch lug nuts required.
11. TIRES
A. All tires must be purchased at Wiscasset Raceway and left
at track after each event. No tire softeners. Tires must be
left at track after each event.
12. SPRINGS
A. Racing springs allowed. Minimum 5 inch outside diameter.
B. Adjustable spring spacer allowed.
C. Leaf spring sliders allowed.
D. Maximum of 2 jacking bolts allowed.
13. RIDE HEIGHT
A. 3 inches with driver, no lift, this includes body.
14. SUSPENSION
A. Tubular upper A-frames allowed mounted in stock location.
B. After market tie rod sleeve allowed.
C. Howe center link permitted.
D. All other suspension parts must be mounted in stock
location unless otherwise stated.
E. Stock type cast iron spindles, rotors and calipers.
F. Rear suspension must match front clip sway bar. Stock
type, maximum diameter 1 3/8
inch outside diameter.
G. Stock frame coil spring cars are permitted. Solid 3 point
rear suspension must be approved by the Tech Department.
H. Bell tech spindles are permitted on coil spring cars.
I. Racing axle required on right side.
15. SHOCKS
A. One per wheel.
B. No adjustable or rebuildable shocks allowed.
C. May run external mounted shocks with weight penalty.
D. May run QA1 shocks with weight penalty.
E. QA1 shocks must be stock location and stock mounts.
F. QA1 shocks must retain standard components subject to
testing by the Tech Department.
G. $90.00 retail value.
16. REAR ENDS
A. Stock or 9 inch Ford or floater allowed.
B. No gun drilled axels.
C. Mini spool o.k..
D. Maximum gear 5.57 final drive.
E. No cambered rear ends.
17. TRANSMISSION
A. 3 or 4 speed OK. Automatics allowed.
B. Minimum 2 forward gears and reverse must be in working
order.
18. CLUTCH
A. Must be stock.
B. No lightweight.
C. Torque converter must be stock.
D. Minimum weight for flywheel is 15 pounds.
E. No aluminum flywheel.
F. Stock steel drive shaft.
G. Stock bell housing or scatter shield.
19. RADIATOR
A. Stock or aluminum. Minimum 1 quart overflow jug. NO
ANTI-FREEZE.
20. BRAKES
A. 4 wheel brakes required.
21. ENGINE
A. Stock steel block. Maximum .060 bore.
B. Crank – stock production steel stock stroke. No knife
edging or lightning permitted.
C. Camshaft – hydraulic flat tappet, no roller type
permitted.
D. Stock lifter bore.
E. Engine location is stock.
F. After market motor mounts allowed.
22. PISTONS
A. Flat top pistons. Maximum compression 11:0 to 1.
Option: If you run under 2007
motor rule, there will be no compression rule.
B. Maximum cubic inch: 350 GM / 351 Ford / 360 Chrysler.
C. GM crate motor #88958602 is allowed in complete form,
from intake to pan. Only change that can be done is the oil
pan. Must be Moroso #81319 with matching pick up. Crate
motor can run Holly p/n 80540-1 600 cfm carburetor or
80541-1 or -2 650 cfm carburetor is permitted with this
engine option.
23. INTAKE
A. Factory cast iron or Edelbrook Performer. GM #2101 or
#2116. Ford #2181 and Chrysler #2176. No modifications.
24. HEADS
A. Stock production steel heads only.
B. No Bowtie heads.
C. Screw in studs and guide plates allowed.
D. Maximum valve spring diameter 1.250 inches. E. Maximum
valve size 1.94.
F. No titanium parts allowed.
G. World Products S/R #043600, 04310, 04340, 043650 Roller
rockers permitted.
H. Stud girdles permitted.
25. CARBURETOR
A. Stock Holly 4412 2 barrel. Only modifications is choke removal.
Jet change, power valve change must pass tech tool. No
changeable air bleeds. Maximum
1 inch spacer allowed. No tapered or beveled spacers allowed
Note: To discourage the use of
specialty carburetors, the track has the right to swap
carburetors at any time.
26. IGNITION
A. Stock
Note: All illegal parts will
become the property of Wiscasset Raceway. If you do not
surrender parts you will not race until you do.
If it doesn’t say you can do it, you can’t. |

The rules, regulations and specifications
contained in these documents are designed to provide orderly
conduct for our racing events and to establish minimum,
acceptable requirements for all events and those
participating in them. All competitors and those associated
with them are required to comply. There is no warranty
expressed or implied with regard to safety by following
these rules. Auto racing is a dangerous sport. These rules
are intended as a guide only and in no way offer a guarantee
against injury or death to participants or spectators.
Since it would be impossible to list with
any rule book all the modifications and infractions that
could be illegal, it shall be understood that Wiscasset
Raceway management reserves the right to modify the rules at
any time and to make those changes effective at any time.
Infractions will be dealt with in any means as determined by
Wiscasset Raceway management.
ANY USE OF ANY KIND OF TIRE TREATMENT OR
TRACTION CONTROL WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND SUBJECT TO
DISQUALIFICATION.
DISQUALIFICATION (DQ): IF YOU ARE DQ’D
FOR ANY REASON, YOU RECEIVE NO POINTS FOR THE HEAT AND RACE,
AND YOU RECEIVE NO MONEY FOR HEAT OR RACE – PERIOD! |
