INTRODUCTION
The rules, regulations and specifications set forth in the
Wiscasset Raceway web site rules have been compiled around
careful considerations of guidelines that will best insure
safe, competitive and affordable race events.
At any time, should it become necessary in the
interest of fair competition, economy, race promotion, or in
the interest of the race show itself, the Raceway reserves
the right to modify, add or delete and rule, regulation or
specification.
DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations and specifications set forth
herein are designed to provide
for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish
minimum acceptable requirements for such events.
These rules will govern all Wiscasset Raceway events,
and by participating in these events all competitors and
their associates are required to comply with these rules.
No express or implied warranty of safety shall result
from publication of, or compliance with, these rules,
regulations and specifications.
The rules within this book are intended as a guide
for the conduct of the sport and are in no way any guarantee
against injury of death to participant
The race director shall be empowered to permit minor
deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose
any further restrictions that, in his opinion, do not alter
the minimum acceptable requirements.
Any interpretations or deviation of these rules is
left to the discretion of the officials.
Their decision is final.
In addition, Wiscasset Raceway holds the rights to
fine, suspend, eject and/or withhold purse and points from
anyone who violates these rules.
GENERAL RULES
Anyone who performs an act or participates in actions
deemed by Wiscasset Raceway officials to be detrimental to
the sport or to Wiscasset Raceway including, but not limited
to verbal abuse of any Wiscasset Raceway official, the
consumption of or being under the influence of alcoholic
beverages in the pit area during a race meet, the use of or
being under the influence of drugs in the pit area during a
race meet, fighting- which is defined as making or
attempting to make physical contact or reckless operation of
a race car or other vehicle in the pit area shall be
disciplined appropriately by track management..
Any person entering another pit area and causing
conflict will be disciplined accordingly.
Each car owner/driver is responsible for their crew
members and their guest’s actions. Wiscasset Raceway holds
the rights to fine, suspend, eject and/or withhold purse and
points from anyone who violates these rules.
Any driver involved in a race accident on the race track
and needs to be hauled or pushed into the pit area is
required to stay with their racecar at all times.
Only a track official or medical team may release
driver from his racecar.
Failure to comply with race track rules may result in
disqualification of event, with loss of all nightly points
and purse.
Any fines imposed during a race event must be paid in full
before entering the pit area for another race event.
When entering the pit area, each person must appear at the
ticket window and sign the appropriate waiver and release.
You will be assigned a pit bracelet and that bracelet
must be visible at all times.
Any person that attempts to use another persons pit
bracelet to obtain entrance to the pit area is subject to
arrest and prosecution and will be suspended from attending
up to the next three race meets.
Any person under the age of 18 that enters the pit area
must have a signed and notarized minor release form on file.
The pit area is for race cars and their haulers only and
personal vehicles will not be allowed in the pit area at any
time.
Drivers
and drivers only must sign their car in at the sign in table
set up before you enter the pit area.
Failure to do this will result in starting the heat
and feature race in the rear of the lineup.
The driver and car owner shall be the only spokesmen for
the team in any matters pertaining to a race event.
Crew members, sponsors, spouses and other associates
may not represent the team in any concerns.
At any inspection of a car in the tech area, only the
driver and 1 crew members will be allowed to be present
unless other wise directed by the tech official.
Any other crew members or other persons must remain
in their pit area.
Any person causing a disturbance in the tech area is
subject to removal from the pit area, and fine and/or
suspension from further race events.
The Raceway reserves the right to conclude any feature race
after 30 minutes if sufficient progress is not being made
toward the conclusion of the race.
Any car spinning by itself three (3) times in one race is
subject to disqualification from that race.
PIT TOWER ATTENDANT
MUST BE NOTOFIED OF ANY DRIVER CHANGES OR BORROWED CAR
DURING A RACE MEET AND ATTENDANT MUST BE NOTIFIED OF SAID
CHANGE PRIOR TO THE RACE MEET
failure
to do this will result in forfeit of purse, points and
position.
Management will review and decision will be made
accordingly.
If you are involved in an accident involving injury to
yourself, advise the racing officials immediately so that
the necessary insurance reporting will be accomplished.
No claims will be considered after you leave the
raceway.
Points are awarded to the driver, Purse money is paid to
the person listed on the information sheet.
Payout Procedures
Payout checks will be given
out at the Pit Gate the week following the race.
If the check is not picked up it will be mailed out
unless you have made other arrangements with the
track office
All monetary transactions with Wiscasset Raceway must be
paid for separately.
EX:
Admission,
you must use a check or cash,
Tires, you must
use a different check or cash,
Fuel, you must
use a different check or cash.
Be prepared you must use three different checks or
cash for paperwork purposes.
If a race event is rained out after the completion of 4
heat events, no rain checks will be issued.
If a race event is rained out before 4 heat events
the pit bracelet you received will be valid for admission to
the rescheduled event only.
NO CASH
REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON.
NUMBER RULES
All numbers will be assigned.
For numbers call the raceway at (207) 632-7322.
Three digit numbers and fractions are not allowed.
No new numbers will be issued with any number/letter
combination.
All numbers must be kept in easily readable condition.
If they are damaged in an accident they must be fixed
before the next race meet.
Inability of the scorers to read numbers can result
in the car being barred from competition.
LINE-UPS
Opening day at
Wiscasset Raceway every class will draw for position. Heats:
There will be one heat for 19 or less cars, 20 or more cars
will be divided into 2 heats.
Heat line ups will be determined by points, lowest to
highest.
Top 3 from the week before will go to the rear
Anyone that has missed
ONE week will go behind top 3
New cars will go behind anyone that has missed a week
All Disqualified cars will go to the rear
Features:
Feature events will line up by the results of the heat
races
Top 3 from previous week will go to the rear
New cars will go behind top 3 of previous week
All disqualified cars from the previous week will go to the
rear.
Feature events shortened by unusual conditions will have
been completed under green flag conditions.
If the event is called while being run under caution,
the last full lap scored will be used to determine finishing
positions.
No Cars or Drivers
will be allowed to compete in more than one race under any
circumstances unless they have entered and paid the fees
required by the raceway.
Drivers must
need to get raceways approval prior to the race event.
POINTS
Opening day at
Wiscasset Raceway, 10 extra points will be awarded for all
participants.
Heat points will be awarded as follows:
Heat winners in each division are awarded 10 points for
winning, and each position back receives 2 points less than
the previous position.
No points are awarded for 6th place and
back.
Feature winners in each division are awarded 100 points for
winning, and each position back receives 2 points less than
the previous position.
No points will be awarded for and car that gets
disqualified.
At the end of Wiscasset Raceways season to be fair to our
weekly competitors, with 3 events left no new cars will
receive points for heats or features.
To qualify for points purse at the end of the year, driver
or car owner must be present at the banquet.
No exceptions
Non point events may
have competition blanket points.
This is where a driver will receive 50 (fifty) points
for competing in a selected race event approved by the
raceway. These
points will go toward you r weekly competition points.
TRACTION CONTROL
DEVICES
So called traction control devices of any design of any
kind are not permitted in any division at Wiscasset Raceway.
PENALTY FOR ANY TYPE

TIRE POLICY
Each competitor at the Raceway agrees to run the tires
specified by the rules of their division.
Each competitor further agrees that he will run tires
that are the same hardness as the other competitors in their
division and specifically agrees that he will be
disqualified and further penalized if such tires are, in the
sole opinion of Raceway Management, softer than others in
the division.
The competitor agrees to allow Raceway personnel to examine
their tires, haulers and vehicles at any time when on
raceway property.
Any tires in question will be confiscated by Raceway
official.
WISCASSET RACEWAY
STRICTLY PROHIBITS THE USE OR POSSESION OF TIRE CONDITIONER
OR TIRE SOFTENER IN ALL OF OUR RACING DIVISIONS AND ON
RACEWAY PROPERTY.

Any imposed penalty handed out to

participating track, ie: Wiscasset Raceway, Unity
